Japanese singer-songwriter Fujii Kaze released his highly anticipated third studio album, Prema, via Republic Records – listen here. “Prema” directly translates to “supreme love” in Sanskrit, setting the tone for Kaze’s most introspective and musically adventurous album to date. With over 2.2 billion global streams and 7.8 million monthly listeners, Fujii Kaze continues to solidify his place as one of today’s most exciting genre-defying artists.

Accompanying the release, Kaze also dropped an official music video for the title track “Prema” — watch here. With powerful imagery set to a deeply emotional love song, Kaze also spent time with elephants at a local sanctuary in Thailand.

Of the release of Prema, Kaze states, “Pure, simple, uplifting. It’s more than just music for me, it’s a lifestyle. With this record, I wanted to be love itself—selfless, spiritual, and supreme love—Prema.”

The release of Premafollows a landmark summer for Kaze. Kicking off the year with sold out shows in Berlin, Paris and London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Kaze recently wrapped the first leg of his debut U.S. tour, which included sold-out shows at the iconic Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and festival after-shows at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands. With an astonishing 260,000 fans queuing for tickets in Los Angeles and 70,000 in San Diego, Kaze broke unprecedented on-sale records and will continue the second leg of his US tour in October. Most recently, Kaze joined Billie Eilish as a special guest on the Tokyo stop of her HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR.

In June, Kaze made a powerful return with “Hachikō”, his first new music in three years since the critically acclaimed album LOVE ALL SERVE ALL. The single sparked global buzz, with over 10,000 fans attending a surprise pop-up event in Bangkok, and has since garnered more than 33 million streams. Following that, Kaze released “Love Like This”, accompanied by a cinematic music video directed by Aerin Moreno (LISA, Tate McRae, Maroon 5) – watch here.

The official CD and vinyl pack shots for Prema have been unveiled and are available for purchase here. The standard CD edition includes all nine English-language tracks from the album, housed in a soft tri-fold paper sleeve, and comes with a booklet featuring liner notes and full Japanese lyric translations. The vinyl edition features a single color vinyl record housed in a gatefold jacket, offering a unique listening experience different from the CD versions.

The limited first edition offers even more for fans, coming with a bonus disc titled Pre: Prema — a special collection of seven tracks including previously released favorites like the global streaming hit “Michi Teyu Ku (Overflowing),” the A.G. Cook-produced “Hana,” and the fan-favorite “Feelin’ Go(o)d,” plus one brand-new, unreleased song: “It’s Alright.” This edition also includes an exclusive double-sided poster, making it a must-have collector’s item.

Prema Tracklist:

1. Casket Girl

2. I Need U Back

3. Hachikō

4. Love Like This

5. Prema

6. It Ain’t Over

7. You

8. Okay, Goodbye

About Fujii Kaze:
With an open mind, heart, and soul, Fujii Kaze lets music take control. He faithfully follows its lead, singing, writing, and performing with the utmost respect for his artistry. As such, he treats his songs with care. He doesn’t turn away from inspiration or cloud its purity. Instead, he allows it to guide him. That’s why the Japanese singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist has emerged as an arena-filling phenomenon with billions of streams and views. Following a deep music influence from his father, Kaze began uploading piano covers of popular songs on YouTube as early as 12 years old, which eventually caught the music industry’s attention and led him to make a label deal.

From humble beginnings in a small countryside town in Japan to moving to Tokyo pursuing his dreams, in May 2020 Kaze released his full-length debut LP, HELP EVER HURT NEVER, with a message not to hurt anyone but just help, while the world was right in the middle of the pandemic. Yielding smashes such as “何なん (Nan-Nan)” and the signature gold-certified “Shinunoga E-Wa,” which dominated TikTok and generated a staggering 693.2 million Spotify streams, the album went No.1 on Billboard Japan’s Hot Albums chart.

In 2021, his single “きらり (Kirari)” soundtracked a popular Honda Commercial, paving the way for his sophomore album LOVE ALL SERVE ALL [2022] and reeling in 287.1 million Spotify streams and 151.3 million YouTube views, as well as another No.1 album. In its wake, he packed venues throughout Asia, including “the third-largest arena in the world” Saitama Super Arena. In October 2022, he held a stadium show “LOVE ALL SERVE ALL STADIUM LIVE” at Panasonic Stadium Suita in Osaka, this time in front of a live audience and completely sold out at 70,000-capacity. The show is now available on Netflix globally. In 2023, Fujii Kaze held 7-city, 11-show tour of Asia, with all shows sold out.

In 2024, he shined with a showstopping NPR “Tiny Desk” performance which garnered over 19 million views, and incited the applause of Billboard and more. Kaze also contributed “Michi Teyu Ku (Overflowing)” to the Japanese film April She Will Come, touring the U.S. for the first time performing solo piano shows in New York and Los Angeles, and signing to Republic Records. In August, he held a one-man live concert at Nissan Stadium that drew 140,000 people over two days.

After releasing a series of singles in 2024 including the A.G. Cook-produced track “Feelin’ Go(o)d”, Kaze takes flight higher than ever before as he gears up to tour the U.S. again and release new music this year.
