Fraser Morgan releases the vibrant new EP Songs About Girls, landing June 1st ahead of the upcoming mammoth 35+ date UK tour, which includes Boomtown and Leestock.
Showcasing a musically rich yet commercially minded fusion of rap and pop encased in a stylistic alt-folk package, the songwriting across the EP highlights Fraser’s vivid storytelling and ear for earworm melodies. Produced alongside Joel Scrimshaw, the EP tells real-life stories through Fraser’s signature honest, humorous yet ultimately intimate and heartfelt lyricism. Blending Celtic instrumentation and rapid-fire vocals the EP captures Fraser’s unique sonic approach.
Talking about the EP Fraser explains: “I’ve been really excited to get this EP out for a long time. In complete contrast to my previous EP I hope you can’t relate, songs about girls is an extremely playful light hearted one which navigates friendship, platonic love, heartbreak, and unrequited love.
I think a lot of people have been excited for me to release this too, which I think is why so many people backed it so quickly in the crowdfunder. That blew my mind to see so many people who cared so much about the music I create. This summer, I’m doing the biggest tour of my life at some of the UK’s biggest festivals. I really can’t wait to get stuck, get this EP out, get on the road and start meeting and connecting with people.”
Following the single, the upcoming EP Songs About Girls is a DIY milestone, backed by over 70 crowdfunders who smashed the goal in under 24 hours and recorded at Myopia Music Rooms. Packed with mandolins, violins, cowbells, and quick-fire rap leaning lyricism, the EP is full of self-awareness and charm, delivering love stories which manage to capture honesty and intimacy whilst retaining the raw energy and humour which makes Fraser such an original and likeable artist.
Fraser has made a name for himself across the UK’s grassroots and festival scenes with over 1,000 shows under his belt—including a sold-out milestone performance at Colchester Arts Centre. Whether solo or fronting his band ‘Fraser Morgan & The Great Catastrophes’, he’s known for chaotic, heartfelt live sets full of rapid shifts between laughter and sincerity. Delivering a performance that is often compared to the likes of Frank Turner, Jamie T and Nizlopi, Fraser keeps the crowd laughing between songs with his unpredictable humour, whilst also delivering important messages of mental health within the songs themselves.
Fraser hits the road throughout 2025, with over 30 upcoming shows and festival slots including Bearded Theory, The Green Gathering, Hidden Door Festival, Cottingham Folk Fest, Leigh Folk Festival, and Boomtown, alongside support slots for Mad Dog Mcrea and Dan Donnelly of The Levellers.
With ongoing support from the likes of BBC Introducing and features across tastemaker press including Backseat Mafia, Fame Magazine, Earmilk, Notion and Atwood Magazine, Fraser is already established as one to watch, ready to take his music to a national audience.
