Fraser Morgan – Ruminating: East of England’s rising folk-punk singer-songwriter Fraser Morgan has released his highly anticipated new single, ‘Ruminating,’. Taken from his forthcoming EP ‘I Hope You Can’t Relate,’ set to release on November 1st via Sad Buds Records, the single offers a taste of the introspective and unique musical approach listeners can expect throughout the EP.
‘Ruminating’ highlights Morgan’s folk roots while incorporating commercial melodies and relatable lyricism, resulting in a sound that balances between traditional and modern. With strummed acoustic guitars, mandolin, bass, and live drums, the track creates a rich, full-band arrangement beneath Fraser’s charismatic, melodic vocals. Produced and mixed by Joel Scrimshaw and mastered by Black Cactus, the EP reflects some of Fraser Morgan’s finest work to date. Speaking on the track, Fraser explains:
“‘Ruminating’ was born from late nights and quiet moments. It’s about those endless cycles of thought we can’t escape from—something I feel everyone goes through but never quite talks about.”
After experiencing a panic attack, Fraser realized the self-sabotaging patterns he was stuck in, and decided to put those feelings on paper, hoping to offer refuge to those who can relate.
Regarding the EP, Fraser adds:
“‘I Hope You Can’t Relate’ is almost a diary—these are deeply personal experiences, and in a way, I hope they’re not relatable. If they are, I hope it helps someone feel seen.”
Fraser’s captivating live performances, whether solo or with his band ‘Fraser Morgan and the Great Catastrophes,’ have earned him comparisons to artists like Frank Turner, Jamie T, and Nizlopi. Recently, he celebrated his 1000th show with a sold-out performance at Colchester Arts Centre, showcasing his ability to engage audiences with his passionate, energetic performances while delivering important mental health messages through his music. His dad-like humor keeps the crowd entertained between songs, making his live shows a mix of chaos and charm.
With ongoing support from BBC Introducing (where he was named artist of the week) and features in local press, Fraser is steadily rising in the music scene and ready to take his talent to a national audience.
