Fasina Shares New Album ‘Freshie’

The 13-track offering sees Fasina deliver a varied soundscape of Afro-pop stylings for fans to enjoy. Inspired by his travels, long and short-term relationships and feelings of self-awareness and alienation, Fasina has collated a body of work that is lyrically introspective and personal, expertly interwoven with his playful, vibrant and energetic style.
Fasina explains further the core meaning behind the album and its name stating, “Freshie by definition is an immigrant, non-belonger which essentially creates someone craving to be free within a society set up for selectiveness. This album is an escape blueprint, from the melodies down to the language it’s been carefully selected to include anyone who’s a fan of Rhythmic fusion blends.”
The latest single taken off the album ‘WAISTLINE’ ft Minz exemplifies Fasina’s sound. The track boasts a laidback beat layered with spacey synths that frame Fasina’s hypnotic vocal patterns perfectly. The addition of Minz to the track adds a further dynamic with the artist offering up smooth vocal harmonies that are awash throughout the track.
Bursting onto the scene in 2016 and following the development of an uplifting catalogue of sonic goodness very much in line with the trends of current afro-pop soundscapes, Fasina has garnered the attention of outlets such as CLASH Magazine and EARMILK, along with racking up over 4million streams across Spotify alone.
