Bristol Indie-Dreampop quartet Chasing Kites return with the elegant, atmospheric new single ‘Luna’ .Produced by Sam Winfield at Studio 91 (Bring Me The Horizon, Amber Run), ‘Luna’ unfurls a rich, atmospheric soundscape of electronics, swirling shoegaze-influenced guitar work, and tight bass over the driving drums. Led by tender, heartfelt vocals, the track is given a central focal point for the musicality to dance around. As the track reaches the chorus, it bursts into an anthemic main melody, pulling the track away from the shoegaze feel of the verse into a more pointed indie feel.
Talking about the track, vocalist Matt Denelly explains:
“‘Luna’ is the retelling of a dream I had about the end of the world. Although this apocalyptic scenario is inevitably quite crucial, the track is more centred around the protagonist falling in love, overshadowing everything else that is going on. It’s a love letter to the all-consuming power of infatuation.”
Since forming in 2021, Chasing Kites has quickly established themselves with sold out live shows across the UK. Having garnered support from tastemakers including Earmilk, Atwood Magazine, Notion, BBC Bristol, and RTE the band are already earmarked as one to watch. Opening for the likes of The Lottery Winners, King-No-One, and Dutch Criminal Record the band have been twice named as ‘BBC Big New Sound’, drawing comparisons to Catfish and the Bottlemen, Fontaines DC and The 1975.
The new single ‘Luna’ is set for release June 20th.
