Biopsy O Boutique – Nettle Kiss: Italian rock band Biopsy O Boutique returns with their moody new single, “Nettle Kiss,” the title track from their forthcoming EP. This powerful song marks a poignant chapter in the band’s artistic journey, reflecting the intense personal challenges they faced during its creation.

Recorded at Colosso Room Studio in late 2022, “Nettle Kiss” has become the emotional core of what the band has dubbed “the cursed album.” After finishing the EP, both lead vocalist Daniele Perrino and guitarist Nicolò Apolloni experienced severe health issues, delaying the release significantly. These hardships have imbued the track, and the entire EP, with a raw, authentic intensity that resonates deeply with listeners.

Musically, “Nettle Kiss” is a captivating blend of Stoner Rock, Punk Rock, Blues, and Grunge, showcasing the band’s distinctive sound. Perrino’s haunting vocals navigate through dark, gritty instrumentals, exploring themes of longing, pain, and the bittersweet desire to reclaim what’s been lost. This track stands as a testament to the band’s resilience and artistic growth since their 2019 debut.

“We chose ‘Nettle Kiss’ as the title track because it captures the essence of what we went through,” the band shares. “It’s about the bad things in life that, strangely enough, you sometimes wish you could have back, despite the pain they caused.”

To complement the release, Biopsy O Boutique has unveiled a visually compelling music video for “Nettle Kiss.” Shot in the woods near their hometown, the video, created in collaboration with performer Chiara Oliva and videographer Omar Cj Neal, amplifies the song’s themes. The natural setting highlights the raw, mysterious connection between the performer and the wilderness. “We wanted the video to evoke the same liberating anger and sense of mystery that the song brings,” the band explains. “Chiara’s performance and Omar’s vision perfectly capture that intense emotion.”

The EP, composed between 2019 and 2021 during the global Covid-19 pandemic, mirrors the emotional turbulence of that time. “Nettle Kiss” embodies the anger, confusion, and frustration that defined those years, while also offering a glimpse of hope. It’s a song of confrontation and catharsis, transforming the band’s collective experiences into a powerful auditory journey.

The EP features seven tracks, with “Nettle Kiss” at its core. The final track, “So Far,” offers a contrasting, softer acoustic sound, providing a gentle, melancholic close to an otherwise intense musical journey.

Biopsy O Boutique will debut “Nettle Kiss” live during a private concert in mid-September, followed by an official release show in their hometown of Vicenza on October 26, 2024. As they prepare to share this deeply personal and evocative work, the band invites listeners to experience the cathartic power of “Nettle Kiss” and join them on this transformative musical journey.
