Ashnikko – Sticky Fingers: Genre-bending pop disruptor Ashnikko has unveiled her bold new single “Sticky Fingers”, out now with its official visualizer. The track is the latest preview of her forthcoming sophomore album, Smoochies, arriving October 17 via Parlophone/Warner Records.
Following the singles “Itty Bitty” and “Trinkets”, “Sticky Fingers” captures Ashnikko at her most audacious — blending playful bravado with uncompromising self-assurance. Visually, she towers in rhinestone belts, candy-colored hair, and platform Pleasers, embodying radical confidence and unapologetic autonomy.
Speaking about the single, Ashnikko shared: “We have a very finite time on this earth, and I’d rather spend mine investing in my friends, learning new skills, and going on adventures than being with someone (especially a man) who doesn’t love me how I love me. Get your sticky Cheeto dust hands off me!!”
Smoochies marks Ashnikko’s most personal body of work yet. Expanding on the futuristic hybrid-pop of her 2023 debut WEEDKILLER, the 15-track project takes a raw, autobiographical approach, centering themes of joy, defiance, and autonomy in a world that feels increasingly hostile to femmes and marginalized communities. The album revels in absurdity and play, embracing a sonic landscape that is at once grotesque and tender, explicit and empowering.
On the new album, Ashnikko explains: “Smoochies feels like Demidevil’s older sister. It’s sexy, playful, and feminine, while toeing the line of grotesque and absurd. It’s the first time I’ve written this autobiographically, but at the core is autonomy and joyful whimsy.”
Fans can look forward to special editions of the album, including an exclusive Urban Outfitters Black Ice vinyl available for US listeners.
