Singer, songwriter, and producer Ana Grosh makes her debut today with “Freedom,” a soul-leaning alt-pop single out now via Dog Brothers Records. The track delivers a candid look at what happens when someone else’s ambition leaves you behind—and how reclaiming yourself can be its own kind of revenge.
Grosh wrote and produced “Freedom,” and it was mixed and mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Terrence Brandt, with vocals recorded at Tree Sound Studios in Atlanta.
“The song is about that feeling when your partner has a real life and you don’t,” says Grosh. “You’ve wrapped your identity around someone else and suddenly you’re left wondering who you even are. I wanted to write something that sounded like taking your power back.”
“Freedom” is Grosh’s first official release since signing with Dog Brothers Records, the independent label arm of Unleashed Music. A current Middle Tennessee State University student studying audio engineering, Grosh splits her time between Nashville and her hometown of Atlanta.
The music video for “Freedom” will follow as part of an episodic visual rollout beginning later this month. Directed by Ryan Piwarski of The Happy Agency, the video leans into a 1950s-inspired housewife aesthetic—shot in a retro Nashville home and styled with sharp irony.
