AGADA Returns With New Anthem Veuve Clicquot Featuring Psycho YP

Nigerian artist AGADA releases his new single, Veuve Clicquot, on 18th August 2026. Featuring Psycho YP, the record blends Afrobeats, Afro R&B and Hip-Hop into a polished, feel-good anthem.

The idea began over fourteen years ago during a live freestyle on Rhythm 93.7 FM in Lagos, when the late presenter Phoenix invited AGADA to perform spontaneously over an instrumental.

The song’s meaning runs deeper than luxury: a reflection on how far AGADA has come, using champagne as a symbol of achievement, confidence and celebrating milestones. Smooth Afrobeats percussion meets melodic textures, hip-hop influences and polished vocal arrangements, while Psycho YP’s featured verse adds a further layer of charisma, resulting in something fresh.

Fittingly for a record about contrast, its glossy, nightlife-ready sound belies humble origins: the final vocals were recorded not in a studio but in the closet of AGADA’s home during the Christmas period in December 2025. For him, great music is defined not by where it’s made, but by the vision behind it.

Born Chike Agada, the Nigerian artist blends heritage and modern African sound into something unmistakably his own. Music runs in his bloodline: he is the son of Harry Mosco, lead guitarist and vocalist of iconic Nigerian band The Funkies, whose fusion of funk, rock and Afro sounds shaped an era of Nigerian music and travelled far beyond its borders. It’s a legacy AGADA draws inspiration from rather than lives in the shadow of, building his own reputation for music that sits between Afrobeats, R&B, hip-hop, soul and contemporary African sound.

At a moment when his career seemed poised to accelerate, AGADA stepped away from the spotlight. A hiatus of more than a year, during which he stepped back from the industry to rebuild. That period produced West Side, not merely an album but a statement, written largely in isolation and shaped by late nights. It captures the duality of his world: luxury and struggle.
