GAIGA announces the release of his debut single ‘Armonika’ (October 1st). The track offers a first glimpse of his forthcoming self-titled album GAIGA, due in 2026.
GAIGA is the project of acclaimed musician Tom Norris, an instrumentalist renowned as a principal violinist of the London Symphony Orchestra. Having recorded with some of the world’s most iconic artists including John Williams, Alexandre Desplat, Paul McCartney, The Who, Elvis Costello, Tony Bennett, Nanci Griffith, Seal, Floating Points, Jeff Mills, Dave Brubeck, Soweto Kinch and Nitin Sawhney, his work spans film soundtracks, orchestral performances, and collaborations across classical, jazz, and contemporary genres. With GAIGA, Norris opens a new chapter, blending the intricacies of acoustic and classical instrumentation with the expansive textures of electronic music.
Produced by Norris himself, Armonika is a sonic journey where organic beats and melodies combine in a rich and varied sonic landscape. Marking the beginning of an ambitious project that merges ambient electronica with acoustic textures, reflecting his rich and diverse musical background.
Opening with a wash of atmospheric ambience as delay and reverb soaked synths swirl around trilling strings, and siren-like lead lines, the track gradually reveals a pulsing central arpeggiator and shuffling, swinging high-hat. As the track finds its feet with a pulsing bass line and driving four to the floor, it gains a direction that pulls it forwards, layering elements before reaching a euphoric danceable haze near the four minute mark.
Talking about the upcoming album, Tom Norris (GAIGA) explains: “The album draws from the myriad influences of the composer’s rich and diverse musical background, where classical instrumentation is complemented with synthesised soundscapes and evolving textures.”
Armonika will be available on all digital platforms from October 1, 2025. The debut album GAIGA follows in 2026.
