Sorana – Techno Sexual: Romanian-born singer, songwriter, and all-around creative powerhouse Sorana isn’t just riding the pop wave. She’s helping build the next one. With a voice that crackles like neon, a wardrobe straight out of a futuristic anime, and a pen behind some of the biggest hits of the decade, Sorana is one of the most exciting and genre-defying artists making noise in 2025.

But music is just the start. In Sorana’s world, every detail matters. Her visuals aren’t just stylish; they’re part of a bigger story. Her obsession with fashion goes deep, from working with her favorite Romanian designer CONSTANTINE to crafting oversized spray-painted merch hoodies and even hand-sewing fiber optic light-up wigs.

“In 2021, I came up with the idea of having hair that lights up,” she says. “We had to invent a whole new method just to make it work, and it ended up being one of the most fulfilling projects I’ve ever done.”

Raised in Transylvania, Sorana’s early life was steeped in creativity, from piano lessons to TV competitions. Her musical DNA is stitched together from a wide range of inspirations: the drama of Sia, the otherworldly mood of Lana Del Rey, the energy of rave and techno, and the no-rules approach of early Lady Gaga. That blend shows up everywhere, from her songwriting credits for artists like The Chainsmokers, Charli XCX, Ava Max, and Jennie, to her own genre-bending solo work.

After years behind the curtain as a hitmaker, Sorana stepped into the spotlight in 2022 with the bold, blood-red “redruM” alongside David Guetta. She followed with Techno Sexual, an anime-meets-cyberpunk concept EP exploring themes of digital identity and intimacy. The breakout track? “Sailor Moon”, a love letter to her favorite anime that also made fans wonder if she was even real.

Spoiler: she is. But she’s having fun playing with that line.

“Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the digital world,” she says. “People comment on my posts asking if I’m AI-generated, and honestly, I take that as a compliment.”

In 2025, Sorana leveled up again with Techno Sexual (Even More Sexual), expanding the themes that make her so distinct. She launched the EP with a campaign that was part digital protest and part scavenger hunt, uploading the project to customized iPods hidden in cities around the world.

“I wanted it to be about embracing your weirdness, owning your difference,” she explains. “It’s not just music. It’s a movement.”

Her second collaboration with Alan Walker, “Mind of a Warrior”, served as the official anthem for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The track cemented her place at the intersection of music, gaming, and visual storytelling. It’s not hard to see why brands and fans alike are drawn to her. She’s creating an entire universe, not just songs.

So what’s next? Probably something no one’s done before.

“I’ve always believed music should feel like entering another world,” Sorana says. “I want to build a space where sound, fashion, and tech all crash into each other and make something beautiful.”

With more than 5 billion streams, platinum records across continents, and a look that’s part anime dream and part cyberpunk rebel, Sorana is building the future of pop in real time. And she’s inviting everyone to plug in.
