Sone – Rollercoaster: International vocal powerhouse Sone releases her highly anticipated new single, ‘Rollercoaster’, a genre-bending pop anthem that dives headfirst into the emotional highs and lows of life—and learns to celebrate them. With cinematic production, raw vulnerability, and operatic strength, ‘Rollercoaster’ marks a powerful new chapter in the evolution of Popera.
Sone wrote the initial lyric during a reflective moment: “Why am I so emotional? Feeling high and then I go lower than I’ve ever been, starting all over again.” A journal entry at first, it quickly revealed itself as something deeper. “There are so many times that I have felt this way, it feels like I work my way up to then plummet my way down.” She continues, “I wanted to write a song that was an ode to appreciating the highs and lows and how they work together- and appreciating myself.” Sone shares. “If you don’t like my rollercoaster—go ride a different one.”
Produced in Paris alongside French sound engineer Theo Laurent-Vitale, ‘Rollercoaster’ draws inspiration from icons like Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, Chappell Roan, and Billie Eilish, while introducing a distinct vocal blend of modern pop and classical technique. The result is fresh, theatrical, and unapologetically emotional.
On the release, Sone shares, “‘Rollercoaster’ is inspired by the emotional rollercoaster one can be on. Basically it’s something that I grew to like about myself and my personality, and many people have shamed me for being myself before but now I’m like- well if you don’t like me and what I have to offer – my “rollercoaster” – then get on a new ride.”
About Sone:
Sone is a genre-defying artist who brings the vocal power of opera to the raw emotion of pop. With a voice that can fill a concert hall and lyrics that cut to the heart, Sone is forging a path that’s all her own. A true global citizen, Sone was born in the U.S. and raised between New York and Russia, where she performed at the Kremlin at age 10 alongside her grandfather, legendary Russian pop star Vyacheslav Dobrynin. By 15, she was performing live in Crocus City Hall to audiences of over 10,000.
Trained at the Manhattan School of Music and later in Germany where she earned her degree in opera voice, Sone seemed destined for the classical stage. But her viral performances—singing both opera and pop in restaurants—quickly gained her over 300K Instagram followers and 120K TikTok fans, catapulting her into the digital spotlight. Now, Sone is blending her training with her passion for songwriting, producing tracks that defy expectations and genre.
‘Rollercoaster’ is just the beginning of what Sone calls her “sonic universe.” It’s a wild ride—and she’s just getting started.
