Rising from the backroom sessions of Katlehong, Sjebhax16 steps forward with a heartfelt Amapiano single, Myekeleni, released on 21st November 2025. The track captures a community-rooted moment of creativity and turns it into a statement about freedom, encouragement and letting talent breathe.
Recorded in July 2025, Myekeleni brings together the collaborative energy of Sjebhax16, Fox Musiq and Sk-1. The song was composed and produced by Sjebhax16, arranged by Fox Musiq, with Sk-1 delivering the lead vocals and Sjebhax16 providing backing vocals. Although financial constraints delayed its release, the music remained intact, carrying the same urgency and sincerity from the day it was recorded.
At its core, Myekeleni translates to leave her or him alone. The message emerged organically during the writing process, when Sk-1 was shaping the lyrics and the session took a decisive turn towards protecting creative expression. The song speaks against unnecessary interference and negative commentary, especially when people are simply trying to do what they love. It champions the idea that growth comes from trying, even failing, rather than being judged from the sidelines.
This release also marks a personal milestone for Sjebhax16 as his first single distributed on major platforms, opening a new chapter of learning, growth and deeper engagement with the music industry.
Sjebhax16, born Jabulane Sonti on 27 May 1989 in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, discovered his love for music in the early 2000s, playing at local parties from 2004. Alongside his musical passion, he built a professional career, beginning as an intern at Tambo Memorial Hospital in 2008, later working at Natalspruit Hospital where he progressed from laundry worker to supervisor. In 2020 he moved into an HR Clerk role before being appointed laundry manager at Tambo Memorial Hospital.
