Ashbourne, Ireland based Indie-rockers Public Warning release their hotly anticipated Debut EP ‘Over/Under’.
Produced by Keelan O’Reilly (Post-Party, Still Blue, Paddy Keyes, and The Drive.), the EP showcases the band’s blend of high-octane indie-rock tendencies whilst delivering a catchy, melodic flair. Biting guitar tones, luscious synth, driving drums and tight bass create soundscapes which are commercially viable whilst retaining an alternative flair.
The EP is led by the radiant opening track and lead single ‘Keying My Car’. A great reflection of the bands ability to craft danceable yet emotionally honest and radiantly catchy tracks. Growing throughout, the track reaches a euphoric and explosive guitar solo before dipping to a reflective middle eight and ending on an anthemic final iteration of the chorus.
Talking about the track, frontman Adam O’Dea explains, “Keying My Car’ is a fiery take on a toxic love story, capturing the frustration of a failing relationship. Musically, it embodies what we stand for— singalong choruses and bouncing rhythm sections that set the tone for the rest of the EP.”
Continuing to talk about the EP, Adam adds:
“With Over/Under, we wanted to capture that in-between space—where you’re not who you were, but you’re not quite who you’re becoming yet. It’s about growing up, learning from mistakes, and figuring out what really matters in relationships and in life.”
Having sold out shows across Ireland, Public Warning have built a strong reputation with press support across the likes of Earmilk, Fame, and RTE, as well as featuring on a number of Spotify Editorial Playlists including Hot New Bands and Fresh Finds UK & IE. With continued airplay on RTE 2FM, including being Track of the Week on Roz & Emma, the band have established themselves as one to watch, ready to take their music to an audience across the UK.
Band Bio: Formed in 2015 in Ashbourne, County Meath, Public Warning is a four-piece indie-rock band consisting of lifelong friends Adam O’Dea (Vocals), JP Roche (Guitar), Robbie Szpara (Bass), and Mark Tuite (Drums). They started with humble beginnings, playing covers at school talent shows and local events before evolving into a band with a distinctive sound and original music. Their powerful, clever lyricism, combined with tight, driving rhythms, has captivated fans and critics alike.
