Ocean Flor – Never Let You Down: Ocean Flor, the dynamic duo of Ralf Schmidt (Aera) and Jesse Trinidad, are back with their highly anticipated single, “Never Let You Down.” This track represents more than just another release for the duo – it’s the culmination of years of hard work, creative exploration, and deeply personal experiences.

Over the past few years, Ocean Flor has poured countless hours into shaping their music. From forming a close-knit team to building lasting friendships, the duo has cultivated a world where their melodies can truly come to life. “Never Let You Down” is a reflection of their journey, drawing inspiration from their lives in Andalusia and the constant back-and-forth between Gibraltar and Málaga. It’s the soundtrack to their experiences: the long hours spent on the motorway, the border crossings, the late-night studio sessions, and the never-ending stream of text messages. The song is both a testament to their sleepless nights and an ode to the dreams they’ve been chasing, now finally shared with the world.

Some songs take months to perfect, but “Never Let You Down” came together in a moment of pure instinct. It all started one early morning when Ralf woke up with a melody already playing in his mind. Without hesitation, he laid down the synth parts and sent a quick WhatsApp message to Jesse, asking for a beatbox recording. Within minutes, Jesse had sent back a voice memo, and just like that, the foundation for the track was set.

The song’s magic truly emerged when Ralf drove from Málaga to Gibraltar to record the vocals with Jesse. In a single, unfiltered take, Ralf recorded the vocals, with the words “I’ll never let you down” carrying an unexpected emotional weight, as he was racing back home to care for his sick girlfriend that day. With the vocals and instrumental in place, Jesse later recorded the guitar part separately, weaving an additional layer into the track.

On the release, Ocean Flor shares, “‘Never Let You Down’ is a song born from spontaneity, long distance collaboration, and a real life promise kept. A fusion of sleek German electronica, UK breakbeat energy, and a subtle Southern Spanish twist rhythmic, emotive, and atmospheric”.

“Never Let You Down” is a song born from spontaneity, long-distance collaboration, and, most importantly, a real-life promise kept.

ARTIST BIO:

Ocean Flor is the collaboration between Ralf Schmidt (aka Aera) and Jesse Trinidad, blending contemporary electronica with experimental pop, shaped by the duo’s unique cultural and musical backgrounds.

Ralf, originally from Germany and having spent many years in the electronic music mecca of Berlin before relocating to Málaga, brings his signature synth-driven craftsmanship. His sound has been honed through years of producing forward-thinking electronic music under the Aera moniker, with releases on some of the world’s most prominent labels and performances at renowned clubs worldwide.

Jesse, who grew up in Gibraltar – a UK enclave in Southern Spain – absorbed the rhythmic pulse of British club culture while studying music production in London, all while being surrounded by the rich musical traditions of Andalusia.

A chance meeting in Gibraltar sparked an artistic synergy and friendship that continues to evolve to this day. The duo’s music reflects this journey, blending Jesse’s evocative lyrics with Ralf’s signature melodic production, drawing influences from Andalusia’s landscapes and the rhythms of life by the sea.

Ocean Flor is more than just a musical project; it’s a story of connection, of borders blurred by sound, and of two artists shaping a world uniquely their own.
