After a two-year break from the limelight, Lil Baby is making a bold comeback, proving he’s still at the forefront of the rap game. With his album WHAM (Who Hard As Me) already out this year and another project titled Dominique on the horizon, the Atlanta rap icon shows no signs of slowing down. And now, there’s even more buzz: Lil Baby has teased an exciting joint project with Future—and potentially Young Thug.
During a candid moment in Spotify’s Day In The Life series, Lil Baby shared details about the collaboration while casually getting his hair retwisted. “Me and Future was working on a joint tape,” he revealed. “Now, Slime [Young Thug] came home… you know he ain’t goin’ for that. He like, ‘Sh*t.’ It’s actually Thug’s idea. When he was in jail, he was like, ‘Call Pluto [Future], I want y’all to do a tape together.’”
The trio has already given fans a taste of their synergy on the track “Dum, Dumb & Dumber” from WHAM. While this collaboration stirred excitement, it also brought back memories of their earlier plans for Super Slimey 2, the much-anticipated follow-up to Future and Thug’s 2017 tape. That project, which was rumored to include Gunna, was halted due to Thug and Gunna’s legal troubles in late 2021.
With Young Thug now back and reuniting with his peers, the possibilities are endless. However, it remains unclear whether Super Slimey 2 and this joint tape with Future and Lil Baby are one and the same or separate endeavors. Producer Southside’s recent cryptic post has only fueled speculation.
Regardless of the specifics, fans are in for a treat. With Lil Baby, Future, and Young Thug joining forces, this project promises to be a defining moment in trap music history. Whether it’s one tape or multiple collaborations, their chemistry and talent guarantee something extraordinary is on the way.
