East London quartet Forever Forever release the anticipated debut EP Good Light In. Produced by Jasper Trim (Finnegan Tui, A K Patterson) and band member (also renowned for his work as a producer) Fionn Connolly (Modern Liv, George Bone), before being mastered by Nick Powell (Arlo Parks, Loyle Carner), the EP showcases the nuance and depth of the bands sound in all its splendour. Fusing 2000s indie with inventive electronics, the organic warmth of folk and alternative-pop tendencies, their sound is tied together by lush, timeless four-part harmonies and an emotional, reflective undercurrent, ultimately resulting in a sound somewhere between The National, Glass Animals and 22, A Million era Bon Iver.

Exploring the highs and lows of navigating your 20s, shifting effortlessly between introspective vulnerability and ecstatic release, the EP is intimate yet expansive, vibrant and colourful yet melancholic and wistful across its 6 tracks. From the blend of twinkling synths, fingerpicked acoustic guitar and whispered vocals on title track ‘Good Light In’, to the tight melodic flare and angular sampling of ‘Stasis’, to the stripped emotive approach of ‘Difficult Feelings’ and ‘Navigate’, the release is a rich, complex and elegant body of work which highlights the band’s potential.

Speaking about the EP, the band explain: “Our debut EP was 3 years in the making. The writing was originally about looking after your mental health – Good Light In is a song about finding joy through difficulty, Stasis is about decision paralysis & feeling stuck, Navigate is about how to ask for help when you’re struggling. As the writing process progressed, those themes developed into the general struggles of trying to build a life when there’s no pathway laid out for you. Difficult Feelings was written about never getting to see your partner because you’re both working on different schedules – it’s the most emotionally open song on the record, and really reflects where I (Fionn) was at the time. And then, Hung Me Out To Dry is a love song for a relationship that never happened, about letting go of feelings that you’ve held onto and moving on with your life. The EP as a whole really reflects that turning point you go through where you want to change your life but you don’t know how. Writing and recording it was a really organic process through that point in our lives, and we’re really proud of how it’s turned out.”

Having sold out their first headline show at The Troubadour, Forever Forever have been going from strength to strength. Following the release of ‘Difficult Feelings’, an exclusive release for the sell-out zine Notes On: Love In The Time Of Heartache, the band have gained multiple Apple Music Editorials and support across the likes of BBC Introducing, BabyStep Magazine and Mystic Sons, as well as amassing over 40,000 streams.

The band are gearing up for their upcoming EP launch show at Paper Dress Vintage, which is expected to sell out.

The new EP ‘Good Light In’ is due for release October 23rd
