The track “Usifiche Iyo Smile,” which translates to “Don’t hide that smile,” highlights one of the most endearing qualities of his love: her radiant smile. “I wrote these songs in the middle of intense emotions, right in the moment,” Davno shares. “The music just flowed because it was straight from the heart. It didn’t feel like work. It felt like the most natural way to express how much she means to me.”
Davno’s musical journey has always been guided by the rhythms of his heart and his love for his cultural roots. “My Bunny“marks a new chapter in his musical career, showcasing his evolution as an artist. Drawing inspiration from the local Kenyan music scene, including the likes of Bien from Sauti Soul, Nyashinski, and Chris Kaiga, Davno has honed his skills over the years and is now ready to share his music with a broader audience.
Having relocated to a new area, Davno began working closely with producer Will from Centro Cellar Studios, and together they created a sound that perfectly captures the energy, passion, and emotion of the album. “My Bunny” is a product of not just his personal love story but also his journey as an artist, collaborating with his younger brother on backing vocals and using online platforms to fine-tune the beats that form the backbone of each song.
