JUNO Award-winning R&B artist Aqyila wraps up her stunning debut album Falling Into Place with the release of “Soar,” a bold, emotionally rich anthem that serves as the project’s final chapter.
Co-written with Maya J’an B and produced by Charlie Coffeen (known for his work with The Weeknd and Rae Sremmurd), “Soar” captures the clarity and confidence Aqyila has gained through her journey. “‘Soar’ puts the final touch on this body of work,” she shares. “It felt like the perfect gift to fans, and the perfect way to close the album. Like the song says—I’m feeling like my intuition never misses, as long as I continue to trust myself.”
Falling Into Place has been met with widespread acclaim. Billboard called it “a formidable introduction,” while BET praised Aqyila for “[cementing] herself among the genre’s greats.” The album highlights her ability to blend vulnerability with empowerment, striking a chord with listeners worldwide.
2024 was a breakout year for the Toronto native: her hit single “Hello” earned a JUNO Award, “Bloom” went viral, and “Most Wanted” became an instant fan favorite. She headlined her first sold-out hometown show, performed in London as part of Mahalia’s Jazz Café series, and took the stage at the Legacy Awards.
The momentum continued into 2025 with a North American tour supporting Pink Sweat$, two more JUNO nominations—and another win, this time for “Bloom.” Her standout performance at the JUNO Awards drew praise for its emotional power and vocal command.
With “Soar” now out and a vinyl edition of Falling Into Place dropping in May, Aqyila is set for a busy summer filled with festival appearances and even more reasons for fans to keep watching her rise.
