Tiwa Savage – This One Is Personal: Global Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has unveiled her long-awaited fifth studio album, This One Is Personal. The 15-track project, written and recorded across Nashville, London, and San Francisco over the past two years, showcases Tiwa at her most vulnerable and self-reflective.
Spanning themes of love, heartbreak, self-discovery, and resilience, This One Is Personal captures Tiwa’s journey with raw honesty and emotional depth. Speaking on the project, Tiwa shares: “I’ve done what people, labels, and others have wanted for so long. This album is for me.”
Drawing inspiration from the fearless candor of Mary J. Blige and her own Nigerian roots, Tiwa has crafted an Afrobeats and pop body of work rooted in authenticity. The album includes recent singles “On The Low” featuring Skepta and “You4Me”, both of which have been embraced by fans and playlisted across BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Kiss Xtra, and Apple Music 1.
To mark the release, Tiwa will celebrate with a sold-out album party and performance at KOKO in London, reflecting the anticipation and excitement surrounding this pivotal moment in her career.
The album’s opening track, “I’m Done,” sets the tone with a stripped piano ballad recorded in San Francisco. So emotionally charged, Tiwa paused mid-session to gather herself before laying down the final take. Other standout moments include “Angel Dust,” a sultry blend of R&B, jazz, reggae, and Afrobeats, and “For One Night,” an unapologetic anthem of resilience.
Collaborations highlight Tiwa’s versatility, with Skepta on “On The Low,” Taves on the playful duet “Addicted,” and longtime friend James Fauntleroy, who reunites with Tiwa on the closing track “Change.” Executive production from Mystro ties the album together with a seamless fusion of Afrobeats, R&B nostalgia, and modern global sounds.

With accolades including EMA, MOBO, and Headie Awards, Tiwa’s influence and pioneering role in Afrobeats is undeniable. Yet, with This One Is Personal, she presents her most unfiltered work to date. At over two million monthly listeners worldwide, Tiwa stands poised to usher in a new chapter for Nigerian music on the global stage.
Tiwa Savage’s This One Is Personal is out now on all major streaming platforms.
