The Memos – Born Again: Liverpool indie-rock trio The Memos continue their ascent with the release of their new single ‘Born Again’, offering a taste of the band’s upcoming EP Futures Ours to Find.
Following co-writing songs with Kyle Falconer (The View) and Justin Hawkins (The Darkness), The Memos return with ‘Born Again’. The track carries a strong and relatable message of resilience, second chances, and personal rebirth. Building a reputation for their raw sense of energy, heartfelt songwriting, and thoughtful lyricism, the new single highlights the band’s blend of indie-rock tendencies and commercially viable melodies.
Frontman Aaron Spencer’s emotive songwriting shines through soaring melodies, driving bass lines from Gary Robertson pull the tracks forwards, while the band sound is given a glistening transatlantic flair, thanks in part to San Francisco-born guitarist Zak Langford-Do. Across ‘Born Again’ the band showcase an adept style of songwriting which is strikingly accessible whilst retaining the flair of their live shows.
Speaking about the track the band explains: “‘Born Again’ is about remembering the power you’ve always had, even when life makes you forget it. It’s that moment when you realise you’re stronger than you thought — when you take back control and start again. A song that epitomises the feeling of betrayal and losing someone close to you. However, even when you are at rock bottom, you can always dig something deep at your core to put yourself back on top and channel self-doubt into accomplishment.”
The upcoming EP ‘Futures Ours to Find,’ recorded and produced by Ben Harper (Mysterines, The Zutons, The Sherlocks) at The Motor Museum, highlights the bands growth and musical maturity. With airplays from the likes of Amazing Radio and SiriusXM, The Memos are building strong momentum, gaining comparisons to Sam Fender and Catfish and the Bottlemen. Their live reputation is also growing, with recent performances beyond Merseyside, including The Halliwell Jones Stadium to 10,000 people.
