Hi there, Welcome to Spinex Music. To kick things off, Can you tell our readers about what really inspired you to write music?
RiskkyRaw – I’ve always been musically inclined. I was born for this. It’s not something I can explain; it’s just my thing. Watching My older brother just made me realize. But I always knew this was what I wanted to do. I have much to say; I can help others by telling my story. I know so many relationships.
When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?
RiskkyRaw – Once I started putting music out and always got back good feedback, I knew it was time to take it to the next level and take it seriously. I was always afraid. Who would listen? But they actually do! It feels good, so I could never imagine stopping.
Tell us what is so unique about you and your music?
RiskkyRaw – I’m versatile. We only have a few, or barely any, females who can do both & actually really good at both singing & rapping. You can put me anywhere, and I’m gonna kill it!
Can you share a story about your funniest mistake when first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?
RiskkyRaw – I remember how embarrassing it was the first time I performed. I didn’t practice enough, and I was really nervous. I accidentally turned the mic switch off. I let my nerves get the best of me, so I didn’t even realize all I had to do was switch it back on. Instead, I asked if I could restart my performance once we discovered why my mic was off. All I had to do was turn it back on! So embarrassing I’ll never forget that day. I learned not to let my nerves get the best of me because I’d hate to look like a fool in front of many people.
Tell us about your latest releases and what inspired you to create them?
RiskkyRaw – I have a single I made strictly for the summer called “Big Ol Booty” What’s unique about this song am I struggled a bit because if you listen to my regular music, you’d see this song was way out of my music lane. But I wanted to challenge myself! This was a twerk song I wanted to make for all the ladies to have fun with and vibe to & dance for the summer. I don’t make twerk music, but surprisingly, this song immensely grew my platform because so many people rocked with it!
Please give us a brief insight into your upcoming projects.
RiskkyRaw – I have a few singles I am about to drop. I’m also working on a small Ep with about 4-6 songs showing all my singing and rapping talents. I also plan to do an R&B Tape soon.
Which tips would you recommend to your industry colleagues to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
RiskkyRaw – Move at your own speed. Know that everyone’s time is different! & don’t compare yourself to others, do what works for you!
What do you do when you don’t do music (creative or otherwise) that you are passionate about?
RiskkyRaw – Besides music, I don’t have much; it’s all I have right now. I’m most passionate about it, and I focus strictly on my music. I’m always writing, always working, tryna make the next hit.
Any last piece of advice for those artists who just started making music?
RiskkyRaw –
- Believe in yourself!
- Invest in yourself!
- Don’t give up; you can’t possibly fail if you never stop!
