Coastal Cowgirl Kimberly Dawn has released the inspiring new single, “Mason Jar Magic” via Sony Orchard. The song is available at major digital distributors at this link: https://officialkimberlydawn.com/mason-jar-magic

“When I first heard ‘Mason Jar Magic,” I got goosebumps and immediately thought, ‘who wrote this song?’ There’s something very nostalgic and special about it,” says Dawn. “When I saw that Tom Douglas was one of the songwriters — along with Kat Higgins and Dan Wilson — I just knew I wanted to cut it. This is the first time I’ve ever recorded a song that has never been released into the world, and one that I’m not a writer on. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it!”

“Mason Jar Magic” finds Dawn longing for the past and a sentimental longing for things yet to come. She laments about life events that haven’t happened for her yet, but her desires are not maudlin – or sad – but filled with optimism that love and happiness are only a prayer away.

“I believe in mason jar magic
    Welcome home for the strays
    Sock feet kitchen dancing
And God answers when you pray
Now you see it, now you don’t
    I will when they say I won’t
Even if the world goes to hell in a hand basket
Still believe in love – and fireflies lighting up – and mason jar magic”

“Mason Jar Magic” was produced by Eric Torres, and features Smith Curry on steel guitar and dobro, Conner Fiehler on acoustic guitar, Justin Ostrander on electric guitar, Harrison Finks on piano and organ, Nathan Gehri on bass guitar, and Phil Lawson on drums.

Dawn, affectionately known as the “Coastal Cowgirl,” was raised in Alberta, Canada, and now splits her time between Los Angeles and Nashville. In addition to her own projects, she recently teamed with fellow performers Megan Barker and Lockwood Barr to release the well-received single, “Three Girls Walk Into a Bar.” The trio also undertook a tour earlier this summer which included multiple stops in California, Las Vegas, and at the CMA Fest in Nashville.

    ABOUT KIMBERLY DAWN:
Kimberly Dawn is truly a coastal cowgirl: with one foot in the sand and the other in a well-worn cowboy boot. Long before California sunsets and Nashville songwriting sessions, she was a farm girl growing up in Alberta, Canada, working the fields on a John Deere tractor and riding her horse bareback. It was her dad who told her, “If you want to ride, you gotta catch your own horse.” No saddles and no lessons.

That girl never really left Alberta. She just grew up into a loving wife, becoming a mom of four now-grown kids who are just starting their own journeys, and finds herself still the artist at heart who finally has the space to pour everything she\’s lived into her music. Having played at the Bluebird Café, the House of Blues, even a duet with Paul Anka, and a viral moment when she met her longtime hero Dolly Parton, over twenty million views and counting. Today, Kimberly Dawn is still that bareback horse-riding girl chasing a dream, with a lot more she still needs to sing about.
