Rising artist HOLYMAMI continues to shatter genre expectations with the release of her latest EP, “TRAP THERESA,” a five-track sonic experience fusing the intensity of rock, the rebellion of punk, and the grit of alternative and nu-metal.
Known for her fearless, boundary-pushing sound, HOLYMAMI has quickly established herself as a formidable voice in modern music. Drawing comparisons to artists like Santigold, Rage Against the Machine, Veruca Salt, and PJ Harvey, her work pulses with defiance, vulnerability, and bold experimentation. “TRAP THERESA” is no exception — it’s a battle cry, a confession, and a mosh pit rolled into one.
“I just love rock music,” HOLYMAMI shares. “I’ve always gotten a sense of strength and power from rock, so this EP was me expressing parts of my mind and heart in rock form. I just wanted to create something fun, interesting, and inspiring.”
TRACKLIST
‘WOMAN MYTH AND LEGEND’ – A fierce anthem with a feminist roar, this opening track channels warrior energy and stands as a declaration of power. “I made this with a battle cry for women in mind — something empowering to scream to.”
‘DESPERADO’ – This track captures the spirit of rebellion, a manifesto for individuality in a world obsessed with conformity. “The only escape is to create your own world,” HOLYMAMI explains.
BLEEDLESS’ – An unexpected twist in the EP’s arc, “BLEEDLESS” is a genre-jumping punk-rock experiment that plays with tempo and mood — a sonic metaphor for the exhausting games of modern dating.
‘HEAD LIKE A HOLE (Cover)’ – HOLYMAMI offers a raw, female-fronted version of the Nine Inch Nails classic, honoring Trent Reznor’s original while reimagining it through her own aggressive, soulful lens.
‘FADING’ – The most introspective track, “FADING” is a dreamlike love song inspired by Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You.” It’s a haunting close to an otherwise fierce collection, revealing a tender layer beneath the grit.
On the release, HOLYMAMI shares, “TRAP THERESA is another ego for HOLYMAMI. I love the religious clashing with urban culture and grit. I feel like a holy saint and an aggressive sinner. I slay my enemies, then pray for them.”
HOLYMAMI continues to captivate with her originality, authenticity, and refusal to be boxed in. With “TRAP THERESA,” she offers a sonic altar for rebels, romantics, and rock lovers alike.
