Starting from the beginning of your musical journey, what inspired you to pursue a career in music? How did your childhood dreams shape your path to becoming “DAngel”?
I never aimed for a music career. I simply loved singing, performing and as I grew older, the business aspect naturally unfolded. What used to be a microphone remote became an actual a real mic and from my family audience, people emerged who appreciated my music, my voice and me as a person. I didn’t become a ‘DAngel’; I always was. A kind soul with determination and a cheeky way of seeing and walking down a path. I always knew that nobody comes to you; you make your way and you have to put in a lot of effort. As mischievous as a little devil, but as kind-hearted as an angel.
You’ve traversed various locations, from Kazakhstan to Germany, London, and now Los Angeles. How have these different cultural influences impacted your music and creative process?
My diverse background, having lived in places like Kazakhstan, Germany, produced in London and now Los Angeles, has undeniably shaped my musical style. It’s a fusion of various cultural elements, blending different sounds and rhythms, resulting in a unique musical experience.
I love learning from talents and people from all over the world, developing my style and expressing my personality through it, infusing that knowledge into my music. Music is more than just an instrument; I do this for my ‘DAngel’ family, who journey with me through all phases of life, granting me the opportunity to grow, make mistakes and keep moving forward. Thank you to everyone around the world who believes in me!
“Breaking Rules” seems to encapsulate a powerful message. What inspired the lyrics and the fusion of rock ‘n’ roll and trap music in this track?
Breaking Rules is there to motivate people and Rock ‘n’ Roll was the time when everyone hit the dance floor and we were all one unit. Moving together towards the good and not getting stuck in rules; sometimes, doing something different is necessary to achieve a different outcome. Let’s not just follow rules but break them together occasionally to achieve a better result. Regardless of the genre, I want people not to think in genres, numbers, or restrictions but to focus solely on the outcome and seek solutions only.
Collaborating with Nick J. Turpin, whose work includes renowned artists like Justin Bieber and David Guetta, must have been exciting. How did this collaboration come about, and what unique elements did each of you bring to the table during the creation of this track?
Collaborating with Nick J. Turpin was an exciting opportunity. His experience with artists like Justin Bieber and David Guetta brought invaluable expertise to the table. Together, we were able to shape lyrics, ideas and beats in a way that made even me want to dance on the tables in the end, and that’s what counts—being grateful for what one creates and not just criticizing oneself, but bringing new ideas into further songs. Having fun with what one has achieved and allowing space to improve.
Looking ahead to 2024, you’ve mentioned several exciting projects, including an upcoming tour and new music. Can you share some insights into what fans can expect from these projects? Any sneak peeks or surprises?
I am excited to now present my collection of songs on stages around the world, in movies and anywhere music can be found. To write more songs and expand my ‘DAngel’ family even further and for everyone who shares my music, writes about me, plays my music on radios, or simply shares it with their neighbor, this is my goal with all those who break the rules, to make the impossible possible as a ‘DAngel’ unit. I am always open to exploring new things in entertainment and, as always, to offer more videos as a result. But I know each and every one of my listeners and viewers will only give me the chance. That’s why I’m grateful to Spinex Music…!
What challenges have you faced in your journey as a musician, and how have these obstacles influenced your growth and creativity?
Challenges exist everywhere in life, but in the end, it’s rewarding to see when one overcomes them, accomplishes more, and then observes the reactions of others, realizing that one didn’t give up in the struggle. In the world of music, there have always been opinions of others trying to push one to quit, knowing deep down they themselves don’t know. Because I’ll say one thing, as a ‘DAngel,’ we don’t give up; we seek solutions and strive to be strong together. Everyone knows that when life is easy, one hasn’t set high goals yet and when goals are lofty, one often goes through tough phases, but in the end, it’s more beautiful and one knows what they’ve achieved, regardless of where the goal ends.
In your live performances, what do you hope audiences take away from your
music and energy on stage?
My audience doesn’t just take something away; they should be a part of it. It’s always more fun to celebrate together, sing together, and bring something new to a gig together. I’m grateful for creative ideas, great positive people who make a performance feel like family fun. Because in the end, I want us to just have fun together, process emotions, and steer them towards the positive. Positive thoughts, positive reactions, and a positive life. We try to turn everything into the positive, no matter how difficult it is.
As you aim to make an indelible mark on the music industry, what are your long- term aspirations, both artistically and professionally?
I don’t focus on long roads; a small path each day is enough for me because the goal is clear: more music, more audience, and more songs. But I can see far, yet I don’t overlook the small steps every day, and they are just as important. No one is happier when they reach the goal, but rather during the journey, with the person who is there at the beginning, who rejoices in small progress. Because everyone knows when you’re at the top of any career, everyone is there, but today, I pay attention to who was there, who helped with the small steps. Because, in the end, no matter how, if one doesn’t give up, you reach the goal, but how you arrive is the question—happy at the destination or rushed, with people you’d rather not associate with. The goal is clear to every singer, but rarely clear with whom.
As someone who’s navigating the music industry, what advice would you give to aspiring artists who are looking to make their mark and stay true to their vision?
Music must be loved, and one must have patience because if you do it for the wrong reason, you forget the music. In the music business, one is always guided by the music, where it’s more about music. Ultimately, if the music lacks creativity, one is bound to fail. Love and know what you love, then you can never fail. Because when you love something, it’s more valuable than any penny you receive for it. Love is why we have the motivation to fight for something. Thanks to all who give me love and show how much they care about me, allowing me to give myself, my music, and love back to you. Thank you, ‘DAngel’ Family, and all those who aspire to become part of it.
