AnnaBelle Swift’s journey into music began in an unexpected place. While working as a legal writer, she found herself craving a deeper creative outlet. What started as a quiet pull toward self-expression soon grew into something more, a new path rooted in songwriting and storytelling.

Though she once felt nervous singing in front of others, AnnaBelle Swift, eventually embraced her voice and passion for music. She is the first musician in her immediate family, using her experiences to shape a sound that feels genuine, warm, and inviting.

Her style draws from Americana and folk, blending heartfelt lyrics with a sense of playfulness. Whether putting a fresh twist on a classic like “Imagine” or writing her own songs such as “Lovebirds,” Anna focuses on connection. Her goal is to create music that uplifts and reflects real moments with honesty and care.

Like many independent artists, Anna has faced the challenges of building a music career from the ground up. She covers the cost of her recordings and development on her own, often balancing a full-time job, family responsibilities, and side work to support her creative efforts. Despite the demands, her dedication has never wavered. Creating and sharing music has become something she values deeply.

Anna’s songwriting process is intuitive and open. She often captures ideas as they come, whether in a voice memo or a quick note. Inspiration can strike at any time, and she has learned to make space for those moments, trusting the direction each song wants to take.

Her upcoming album, titled Messages of Hope and Inspiration: Music for the Soul, reflects her commitment to creating music with meaning. Each track is drawn from experience and shaped by a desire to comfort, inspire, and connect with listeners on a deeper level.

Looking ahead, Anna plans to complete her first album, record new projects, and explore opportunities in sync licensing. She hopes her songs will one day be used by organizations that support and uplift others, allowing her music to reach beyond entertainment and offer something lasting.

AnnaBelle Swift’s story is one of growth, intention, and creative discovery. Through her music, she continues to share pieces of herself with honesty and care, reminding others that it is never too late to follow what moves you.

Can you tell us about your journey as an indie musician? What inspired you to pursue a career in music?

To me, music is the ultimate creative outlet.  As a lawyer by trade, I noticed myself yearning for greater creative expression while serving as a legal writer for law judges some years back.  It was at this time, later in life when I needed it most, that music and storytelling came to me—giving me a joy almost like no other.  (Funny fact: I was actually quite terrified to sing in front of others as a kid but have now become a trailblazer for music in my immediate family, as a first-generation musician.)  Ultimately, I have found the legal field to cater to my analytical interests, but the field of music has opened me to the creativity within.

How would you describe your unique style and sound as an artist? What sets you apart from other musicians?

As an Americana/folk singer, my hope is that my music feels not only warm and inviting to the listener but also playful to the ear—whether that’s by putting a new spin on a popular tune like “Imagine” or expanding on a popular concept with some playful lyrics like for “Lovebirds.”  My intent as a folk artist is always to remain heartfelt, authentic, and playful.

Could you share some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as an indie musician and how you overcame them?

As a newly emerging independent recording artist, the greatest challenges I have personally faced, so far, are those of building a fan base from the ground up (starting with family and friends on Facebook to expanding to the public through ads, etc.) and funding the expenditures of being an independent artist.  Like other independent musicians, I pay for all of my music creation (and for the process of continued learning/development as an artist) out of pocket, which has involved taking a side job while maintaining a full-time professional job and other familial responsibilities.  Truly, this is how deeply committed I am to creating music: you just can’t put a price tag on the opportunity to be creative and to share that passion with others.

What is your creative process like? How do you approach songwriting and composing music?

I approach music creation with authenticity and storytelling in mind (and eventually will do so with sync licensing in mind).  To stay true to this style, I keep myself open to the creative process and, particularly, to being inspired.  No lyrical line or catchphrase is ever too insignificant to be captured by a quick voice memo or note on my phone, and I have learned to be vigilant in discerning when inspiration is hitting, while making sure to prioritize those moments.  As a lawyer originally, who has expanded into a musician, I decided that I came to play in this vocal playground, to expand what music can sound/feel like.  I believe that music is never meant to be caged in, and I honor that process.

Are there any particular themes or messages that you aim to convey through your music? What inspires your lyrics?

Yes!  My songs are all experience-based, and this first album (“Messages of Hope and Inspiration: Music for the Soul”) is an evolving title that will capture the overall nature of the various songs that go on the album.  Ultimately, my music is meant to be uplifting, positive, and message-based.  In my viewpoint, music is all about the message being conveyed, like a gentle pill of medicine for the soul.

What are your long-term goals as an indie musician? Where do you see yourself and your music in the next few years?

For the next 5-year time span, my music career goals involve completing my first album as well as recording another album (or more) and securing sync licenses.  I would also love for a song/songs of mine to become the official song of choice for an organization that is designed to help people.  Ultimately my aim is to make beautiful, meaningful music that creates a positive impact for others and the world at large.
