Andy Gunn comes back with a dynamic campaign celebrating the celebrated song off of the album, which will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary next year – Too Many Guitars To Give Up Now. The momentum follows the warm reception of his recent track “Rainbow Bird,” signalling a fertile creative period as writing sessions are actively underway to uncover the next chapter.

The record was originally recorded live on vintage analogue equipment in Edinburgh, “Too Many Guitars To Give Up Now” captures the organic warmth of classic blues, folk and roots sessions. The album was inspired by the moment he fell in love with the Blues at the tender age of 13 after growing up in a rock and roll heavy household, often AC/DC tapes playing in the background, Andy soon picked up his brothers beaten up acoustic guitar and that’s when it hit him that the Blues had him captivated and forever had a hold on him.

This 12-track record stands as a testament to healing, resilience and unyielding musicianship. The album title famously sprang from a lighthearted moment when asked about his extensive instrument collection, to which Gunn replied, “Put it this way, I’ve got too many guitars to give up now!”

Tracks to watch out for; The foot-stomping country blues of “Let You Go” (feat. Spider MacKenzie), the delicate flat-picked opener “Misery Blues,” and the soaring title track of Too Many Guitars to Give Up Now.

Andy’s influences include Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Martin Stephenson. He’s played a wide array of shows over the years from Half Moon Putney, The Cluny, Newcastle, Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh and many more festival appearances.

“His musical experience is enviable, but the talent he possesses clearly comes from somewhere higher…”

About Andy Gunn

Gunn’s intuitive and soulful playing has drawn comparisons to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix and has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the business. From supporting Buddy guy, jamming with Albert Collins and many notable artists in his career.

During his musical career, he’s had moments of profound personal trials from contracting HIV and Hepatitis C via contaminated blood products in his youth to overcoming cancer twice. Gunn’s story is one of triumph. Too Many Guitars To Give Up Now highlights his shift toward acoustic folk and roots restraint, putting storytelling and finger picked textures right alongside his electric blues heritage.

Pulling momentum from “Rainbow Bird” to the Next Album

The refreshed push behind “Too Many Guitars To Give Up Now” comes at a pivotal moment as the release of “Rainbow Bird” re-established Gunn’s distinct voice within the contemporary UK roots scene, offering fans a glimpse into his evolving sound. After the original release of “Too Many Guitars To Give Up Now” on 22 October 2017, Andy secured endorsement deals with Duesenberg Guitars (Germany) and St. Blues Guitars of Memphis.
