Waithaka Ent’s influence goes beyond his own projects. As an executive producer for a number of well-known Kenyan artists, Waithaka plays a key part in their careers. He was in charge of producing three EPs by Kwame Rĩgĩi: Rugendo, Malkia, and Cama Wendo.
He also produced Ayrosh’s first EP, Murasta. Five of Wangechi’s nine tracks on the EP Don’t Consume If Seal is Broken show off his production skills even more. Waithaka has also worked with well-known artists like Mutoriah, Chemutai Sage, and Serro, as well as foreign acts like Giggz, an engineer nominated for a Grammy, Kaysha, a Congolese-French musician, and Chris Deshield, winner of BET’s 106 & Park All-Star ’09.
His music is based on the soul and R&B sounds he grew up with in the 1980s, which he says are important to him. That’s how his sound shows who he is, and he’d rather let the music speak for itself.
