Zara Larsson – Pretty Ugly: Global pop powerhouse Zara Larsson returns with a vengeance on her latest single “Pretty Ugly”—a fiery, high-energy anthem that marks the beginning of a bold new chapter. Out now via Sommer House / Epic Records, the track throws out the rulebook and dives headfirst into raw, unapologetic confidence.
“Sometimes a girl don’t wanna be well-behaved,” Zara belts out—setting the tone for what promises to be her most fearless era yet, ahead of her upcoming fourth international album.
Co-written with longtime collaborator MNEK, Helena Gao, and Margo Wildman, and produced by Margo XS and MNEK, “Pretty Ugly” is a sonic blast of low-slung electro grooves and nostalgic ’90s house vibes. The chorus bursts with attitude and liberation: “Have you ever seen a pretty girl get ugly like this? / Messy like this? / Losing her shit?” It’s a rallying cry for every woman who’s tired of being told to stay in line.
The Charlotte Rutherford-directed music video brings the chaos to life. Zara storms onto the screen barefoot in a retro VW, unleashing a storm of choreography and rain-drenched revelry. It’s gritty, glamorous, and totally unfiltered—just like the song itself.
“Pretty Ugly” doesn’t just mark Zara’s return—it kicks the door down.
