The ballad, built on delicate piano arrangements and Sonnet’s soulful vocal delivery, was born during one of the most emotionally challenging times in her life. The inspiration came from an offhand comment by her mother one rainy afternoon: “Even after cleaning, everything still feels damp on a day like this. I wish it would just rain harder and wash everything away.” From that moment, Son found the lyrical core of the song, the idea that sometimes we long for something powerful enough to wash away lingering pain, even as we know healing can’t happen in an instant.
“This song isn’t just about a breakup,” Son shares. “Through the metaphor of rain, I wanted to express what it feels like to live with the memories of someone you wish you could forget, the fear of loving again, and the question of whether you still have the strength to face yourself.”
