The conversation sparked when a clip from her recent interview with HOT97’s Nessa began circulating online. In the sit-down, which aired on Tuesday, September 9, the “My Type” hitmaker opened up about the challenges she has faced in the music industry.
“There have been so many times I’ve been just counted out, and I know that it’s behind animosity,” Saweetie explained. “I know it’s because of a hidden agenda, but it makes me work harder.”
She went on to say that while the obstacles often come in different forms, the pattern feels the same. “What I deal with in the industry is just different face, same case. I see it. It just shows up in different ways.”
