FINN - CONTROL
FINN - CONTROL
SHARE

FINN return with “Control,” a song that feels both comforting and quietly powerful from the very first listen. Having been part of the Melbourne music scene for years, the band clearly understands how to create music that connects, and this latest release is a strong reminder of that.

“Control” blends folk and Americana in a way that feels natural and unforced. The layered acoustic guitars and banjo give the track a warm, full sound, while the steady rhythm keeps everything moving with ease. There’s a lightness to the production, but underneath it sits a thoughtful message about uncertainty and staying grounded when things feel out of your hands.

What stands out most is the songwriting. FINN don’t try to overcomplicate anything. Instead, they focus on simple, honest ideas that feel real. The theme of resilience runs through the song in a way that feels relatable, especially in today’s world where a lot of people are searching for stability.

The vocals and harmonies add another layer of depth, giving the track a sense of unity and emotion that lingers after it ends. It’s the kind of song that feels just as suited for a quiet moment alone as it does for a live setting with a crowd singing along.

As the first single from their upcoming album, “Control” sets a strong tone. It shows a band that knows exactly who they are and continues to grow while staying true to their sound.

About FINN

FINN is a Melbourne-based roots and Americana band formed in 2008, known for their thoughtful songwriting, rich vocal harmonies, and warm, organic sound. Led by brothers Mark and Luke Finn on guitars and vocals, the group is rounded out by longtime collaborators Terry Hart (multi-instrumentalist), Jeremy Staples (bass), and Daniel Angelini (drums), creating a cohesive band dynamic that translates seamlessly from studio to stage.

Across ten albums, FINN have developed a distinctive blend of folk, Americana, blues, rock, and melodic pop, grounded in a strong tradition of storytelling. Their music is defined by layered acoustic guitars, banjo, piano, and carefully crafted arrangements that prioritise emotional clarity and connection.

Their upcoming album Control (Aug 7, 2026) marks their most focused and refined work to date, exploring themes of memory, faith, friendship, and the quiet resilience that carries people through uncertain moments.
