Rebekka Louise shares, “My aim was to explore all the different aspects of being someone who’s struggling and being in a relationship with someone who’s struggling. I wanted to express how it makes both parties feel and the complexities involved. Creating this album was a cathartic experience for me, helping me understand my own emotions and gain a deeper understanding of others.”
Featuring eight tracks with raw, unfiltered lyrics, the album captures Rebekka’s authentic self-expression. Influenced by artists such as Aurora, Maria Mena, The Neighbourhood, Billie Eilish, and Madison Beer, Rebekka has crafted a sound that is both experimental and emotionally resonant.
Shame Is An Old Friend primarily explores the realm of electronica, incorporating live string sections to enrich the soundscape. A standout feature of the album is Rebekka’s exceptional vocal performance. Her voice conveys the intricate emotional depth of the album with remarkable clarity, offering a raw and authentic experience. Most of the recording took place in Rebekka’s living room, with select tracks recorded at Tileyard Studios in London.

Whilst writing, recording, and producing all of her music from her small London apartment, Norwegian Rebekka Louise is carving out her own path in the music scene.
