Shanghai-raised, LA-based creative miso808 considers herself a multimedia storyteller. Born and raised in Shanghai, she moved to the U.S. alone as a teenager. Growing up, she was a classically trained pianist and began writing songs on the guitar as a child. Initially, writing music was a way for her to learn English, but miso808 quickly became captivated by music as a form of storytelling. But music was initially not a path she envisioned herself pursuing due to the lack of Asian representation in music in the U.S. when she first arrived.
As a result, miso808 first focused on filmmaking, but she never stopped making music. Now refocusing on music, her film background inspires a cinematic sound, and her visuals play an integral role in her narrative. miso808 is signed with Chinese label Elec.Girl, and she is now proud to introduce her debut EP to the world.
