London-based actress, singer-songwriter, producer, and voice artist Lauren Akosia returns with “It’s Time,“ an uplifting new single that encourages listeners to chase their dreams, embrace personal growth, and step boldly into their next chapter. Blending Afro-house, Afrobeats, and electronic dance music, the track delivers an infectious rhythm paired with a message of hope, determination, and self-belief.
Built around vibrant South African-inspired house grooves, contemporary Afrobeat influences, and atmospheric electronic production, “It’s Time” is designed to energize both the dancefloor and the mind. Rather than simply celebrating success, the song focuses on the journey that leads there, reminding listeners to appreciate their progress while staying committed to their goals.
“‘It’s Time’ is about encouragement,” Akosia says. “It’s about pursuing your dreams, enjoying the journey, and pushing forward towards greater things. We are constantly developing, growing, and rising. It’s time to lock in, believe in yourself, and get ready for whatever it is you’re hoping for.”
The release follows the success of her debut single “Let It Go,” which earned her a nomination for Best International Act of the Year at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards USA. It also highlights her growing identity as an artist who combines meaningful storytelling with contemporary electronic sounds, bringing the emotional depth of her acting career into every musical release.

Alongside her music, Lauren Akosia has established herself as a respected performer on both stage and screen. She is known for her role as Carmelita in the BAFTA Award-winning BBC drama Mr Loverman, as well as Jenny in Season 3 of Whitstable Pearl. Her theatre career has also taken her to renowned venues including London’s Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena, and the National Theatre of Ghana.
Musically, Akosia continues to carve out a distinctive space where Afro-house, deep house, Afrobeats, R&B, and electronic music naturally intersect. Her rich vocals, uplifting songwriting, and dynamic performance style allow her to bridge cultures and genres while creating music that resonates emotionally as much as it moves physically.
With “It’s Time,” Lauren Akosia delivers more than an energetic dance record. She offers a reminder that growth begins with belief, every journey starts with a single step, and sometimes all we need is the courage to recognise that our moment has already arrived.
