Kitchen Lover – Oregano Ricardo: Brighton-based punk risers Kitchen Lover share the new single ‘Oregano Ricardo’ (July 3rd), the second single to be taken from the band’s upcoming debut album, The Circus Sideshow Dream.
A Punk trio at the heart of Brighton’s flourishing music scene, Kitchen Lover display another example of their vibrant, high-octane sound on ‘Oregano Ricardo’. Produced by Erik Miles (SOFT PLAY, Baby Dave, Kate Nash), the track brings tight, fuzzy guitar work and chantable, evocative songwriting. Bringing an essence of Shame and Queens Of The Stoneage with the blues rock undercurrent of The Black Keys, the track’s spiraling sense of chaos is palpable, capturing the essence of the bands live sound whilst bringing a polished, studio quality.
Speaking about the single, the band explain: “The fantasy daydream of a renowned tale, two men fighting over the same woman, except in this case the man Marcel is fighting against (and losing) is a beautifully pruned Oregano plant.”
The release follows a breakout year for Kitchen Lover, who played nearly 50 shows across the UK, sold out at a number of prestigious venues, and opened for Getdown Services, Frankie And The Witch Fingers and Toya Delazy among others.
With support across the likes of Punk News, The Punk Site, Psychedelic Baby Magazine, Notion and New Noise as well as landing Amazing Radio’s A-list and heavy radio rotation across Europe and the U.S., cementing their place as one to watch. The upcoming album ‘The Circus Sideshow Dream’ is penciled for September with Erik Miles not only producing the album but also contributing bass, organ, keys, and guitar throughout the record.
