The multitalented country-pop songwriter and artist Gabrielle Metz’ latest single, “Mixtape,” looks to the past to show how we grow as people and musicians. We’re all just collections of our influences and experiences, and Metz is able to convey that very personal and diverse phenomenon by listing off many of her favorite bands and how they have all made her the musician she is today. We all really are mixtapes surprising others at every turn and every new track. The song even blends those influences, utilizing both rock and country stylings to make an instrumental indicative of the lyrics’ truth. This track is definitely a great addition to any “mixtape,” as a reminder of where we’ve been and where we’re going.

Gabrielle Metz is a not only a songwriter, she is a storyteller, an amazing musician, a fashion icon, and country music’s next female powerhouse. Metz was born in Fort Payne, Alabama, home to the Country Music Group, Alabama. The charming 22 year old grew up in the small, southern city of Gadsden, Alabama, and “Sweet Home Alabama” embodies this ‘girl next door’ perfectly.
Her love for music traces back to early childhood. In her teens, Metz was inspired to start songwriting by artists such as Kelsea Ballerini. As she began writing songs, Gabrielle wanted to learn how to play guitar and saved up her own money to purchase her very first guitar. Not only did she purchase the guitar for herself, Gabrielle also taught herself to play while continuing to write her own music and perform around Birmingham.
In 2017, before her senior year of school, Gabrielle told her parents that she wanted to move to Nashville to pursue music. Gabrielle finished high school online and moved to Nashville in February 2018. She fearlessly dove head-first into the industry. She soon found herself in co-writes all along Music Row, playing stages throughout Nashville, and making new friends.
Gabrielle released her debut single, “Checkered Flag,” in January of 2020 which was featured on Women of Country’s Top 10. Metz penned this song about chasing her dreams in Music City, and she’s doing just that. Metz has released 7 more original songs since then, “Cajun Words,” “Hear My Heart,” “Thin Ice,” “Christmas With You,” “Hey Cupid,” “Forgot To Fall In Love,” and “Masks.”
Gabrielle’s hard work and determination proves to be paying off. She has accrued many accolades since moving to Nashville, and continues to wow the country music scene with her powerful songwriting abilities, sweet yet sultry vocals, and infectious personality. Her single “Hear My Heart” was named to EJAZZ Radio’s Top 20, and country ballad “Thin Ice” was named to Ignition Radio’s Top 20. Metz’ first Christmas track titled “Christmas With You” was nominated for Social Stars Best Christmas Song. Gabrielle was nominated for the Alabama Music Awards Best Female Country Artist in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. She was also nominated for the Alabama Music Awards Best New Artist in 2018 and 2019. She has played the infamous Houston Rodeo in 2022, and many notable Nashville stages, including The Listening Room.
Gabrielle is a songwriter with Heart Songs Music Group and Get Buzzed Publishing and is working with the Heart Songs Music Group Management team on her upcoming EP to be released in the fall of 2022.
