Nigerian artist EXALT will release his new single ‘Delilah‘ on June 26th, 2026. Inspired by the biblical story of Samson and Delilah, the song explores themes of betrayal, heartbreak, and emotional attachment. Through the track, EXALT reflects on situations where people continue to hold on to relationships despite being hurt, believing they cannot find anyone better.
The song underwent a three-month writing and recording process. Originally conceived as a dancehall track, the project evolved significantly during production. The initial instrumental was created by Nigerian producer Interracial Beat, who laid the foundation for the song. Following the recording sessions, producer Os Beats reworked the production by introducing additional string arrangements and removing several original elements. The revised version shifted the song towards an Afropop sound and was ultimately selected as the final production. Os Beats also handled the track’s recording, mixing, and mastering. “Delilah” marks EXALT’s first release of 2026 and serves as the lead-up to a new EP scheduled for release later this year.
Born in Nigeria and currently based in the Netherlands, EXALT has been making music since 2006 and officially launched his recording career in 2024 with the release of his debut single, Kilimanjaro. The track received television support across Africa and the UK, including airplay on MTV Base UK, MTV Base West Africa, Soundcity TV, and Hip TV, alongside radio support across multiple territories. In 2025, he released his EP New Wave, which has accumulated more than 600,000 streams across digital platforms. One of the project’s standout tracks, Maggie, later received a remix featuring Nigerian artist Skales, generating more than 100,000 streams.
Known for blending Afrobeats, Afropop, hip-hop, rap, dancehall, and alternative influences, EXALT continues to develop a versatile sound shaped by his international experiences. Having travelled extensively across Africa and Europe, these experiences continue to influence his songwriting and musical direction.
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Drake, Jay-Z, and Travis Scott, EXALT combines Afrobeats with elements of hip-hop and contemporary pop, creating music that connects with audiences both locally and internationally. With ‘Delilah’, EXALT delivers a relatable story about trust, loyalty, and the emotional complexity of relationships while continuing to build momentum ahead of his upcoming EP release.
