Rather than attempting to explain grief, the song simply sits alongside it, offering comfort, compassion, and quiet solidarity.
Byrne’s delicate piano performance forms the emotional centre of the recording, making the collaboration especially poignant given the personal circumstances surrounding its creation. Produced by Joe Egan, mixed and mastered by Aidan Cunningham, and accompanied by a beautifully filmed performance video by Mark Bennett, the single is understated yet deeply affecting.
