‘Mrs Other’ is an evolution of a riff Turner initially wrote for a jam session during a period of personal turmoil. “I was going through a post-university crisis at the time,” Turner explains. “Lyrically, the song is about realising you’re growing older for the first time.” While the riff was initially intended to serve as a groove to jumpstart improvisational jams, it grew into something much more—becoming a full-fledged song with profound emotional depth and musical complexity.
