Independent Nashville artist Chandler Marie is set to release her new single “Ride Away” on Friday,
October 2. Blending classic western storytelling with contemporary Nashville production, the modern
country track shares the heartbreak of loving a restless rodeo cowboy. The song explores the tension
of loving someone who is drawn to the road, the rush, and the freedom that makes a relationship
hard to keep, but knowing that changing him would mean losing the very things that made you fall for
him. The chorus features a standout hook: “I just wish God made cowboys who didn’t ride away.”
Written to answer the question of why people we love leave, the story builds on a chance meeting at
a Houston bar, a relationship stretched by distance, restless boots, and the realization that love isn’t
always enough. The narrative unfolds through vivid lyrics like: “I’m a lonesome dove, he’s a
tumbleweed rolling // I got half his heart but I want every part, but I’m losing and I know it // Wild
horses can’t keep me away // He ropes and ties under Cheyanne lights // That’s where he comes
alive.” Sonically, the track sits comfortably alongside artists such as Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce,
Lainey Wilson, and Miranda Lambert.
Speaking about the song, Chandler says:
“I want listeners to hear the vulnerability, and know it’s okay to wonder why God allows people to
leave, even though we want them to stay. Sometimes people need to leave so something better can
come along, and this new track explores the heartbreak that comes along with that.”
Chandler is building a distinct lane focused on direct songwriting, strong hooks, and sharp narrative
depth, and “Ride Away,” continues her strongest run as an independent artist. Chandler’s momentum
is gaining traction with rising streaming numbers, growing live demand highlighted by her recent
Bluebird Cafe debut, and more new music on the horizon.

Chandler Marie, a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, was raised in a small Georgia town and grew up surrounded by music. She started writing and playing guitar early, first learning a few chords from her dad, a musician who notably opened for Opry Member T. Graham Brown in the late 80’s. From the beginning, Chandler was drawn to honest storytelling.
After graduating from the University of Tennessee in 2020, Chandler committed fully to building a music career without shortcuts, and has earned every inch of her career the hard way. For years, that meant midnight Broadway sets, long drives home, early mornings at a day job, and doing it all over again the next day. That work ethic has made her a fixture in the Nashville live music scene and a trusted collaborator in writing rooms. Her sound lives in modern country but pulls from pop and Americana influences, shaped by real experiences and delivered with clarity and confidence.
Chandler is positioned for a true breakout after building significant momentum in 2025. She had numerous standout singles from her debut EP “Just Getting Started,” was a selected performer at CMA Fest’s Spotlight Stage, and was a nominee for eight Josie Music Awards.
