Addison Rae – Diet Pepsi: The release of her new song “Diet Pepsi” this week shows that American pop princess Addison Rae is still living her own life without following anyone else’s rules.
The provocative track, her first with Columbia Records, is about “flirtation and playful seduction” and is her first single release of 2024. It marks something of a new beginning for the rising star.
The song was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden, and was written by Addison, Luka Kloser, and Elvira Anderfjärd, who also produce it. It sounds very different from Rae’s first EP, “AR.” The pulsing synths and hypnotic beat seem to better reflect the daring artist that the triple-threat performer has become in recent years.

The music video for the single was directed by Sean Price Williams (Sabrina Carpenter), and Mel Ottenberg, Editor-in-Chief of Interview Magazine, came up with the idea. It shows Addison driving down the highway in a dirty old car with Drew Van Acker (Pretty Little Liars) climbing from the front seat to the back seat as the chorus repeats, “Say you love, say you love, say you love me, losing all my innocence in the backseat…” choreography by Danielle Polanco was added in between.
The video changes into “beautiful technicolor” for the last chorus of the song when you hear a soda can pop open.
