Rather than arriving with every detail mapped out, Jay built the bass and drum parts during the recording sessions, allowing the arrangement to grow through experimentation and instinct.
That approach gives “Happy Friday” much of its charm. It feels alive rather than overly polished, with drummer Dennis Aubele providing the force that keeps the song moving. Jay’s vocals, guitar and bass sit at the centre of the recording, while producer Julian Schneid helped shape the track into something energetic without taking away its spontaneous character.
