London-based singer-songwriter Anoushka Hem returns with “Enough For Me,” an upbeat indie-pop single about learning to trust yourself, setting boundaries and letting go of the pressure to live up to other people’s expectations.

The song explores a feeling many people will recognise: the constant sense that you should be doing more, achieving more or becoming someone different to be considered successful. Through honest lyrics and an energetic pop sound, Anoushka questions that way of thinking and encourages listeners to decide for themselves what a fulfilling life should look like.

At the heart of “Enough For Me” is a simple but important question: “why can’t I be enough for me?” It captures the frustration of measuring yourself against expectations that may not reflect what you truly want. As the song unfolds, that uncertainty begins to give way to a stronger sense of independence, with Anoushka embracing the idea that personal happiness does not need to be explained or approved by anyone else.

Musically, the single sees Anoushka exploring a brighter, more playful direction. While her previous songwriting has often leaned towards intimate, ballad-driven material, “Enough For Me” brings a bigger pop sound and a stronger sense of movement. The change gives the song a fresh energy without losing the thoughtful writing and emotional honesty that have become part of her approach to music.

What makes the song relatable is its reminder that setting boundaries does not make you selfish, and choosing a quieter or simpler life does not mean you have failed. There is no need to keep chasing somebody else’s idea of success when it leaves you unhappy. Sometimes, knowing what you want and having the courage to choose it is enough.

Beyond music, Anoushka is a multidisciplinary artist working across theatre, choreography, playwriting and podcasting. She also hosts The Quiet Fire Podcast, where she explores creativity, personal growth and the challenges of building a meaningful creative life. Storytelling remains a common thread throughout her work, with a focus on experiences that help people feel understood and less alone.

Drawing comparisons to artists such as Maisie Peters, Olivia Rodrigo, Madison Beer and Grace Enger, Anoushka combines direct lyrics with melodic indie-pop songwriting and a personal perspective. With “Enough For Me,” she opens a new chapter in her sound while continuing to explore questions of identity, ambition and self-acceptance.

Ultimately, the single is about giving yourself permission to live differently, walk away from what no longer serves you and stop treating your own happiness as something that needs to be justified. It is a reminder that you do not have to become someone extraordinary to appreciate the life you have chosen.

“Enough For Me” is available on streaming platforms.
