Afrobeats artist Timzy_survival is set to release his highly anticipated new single, Felony, on 1st August 2026. The track serves as the opening statement for his upcoming five-track EP, Survival, which will follow three weeks later, offering fans a deeper look into the story behind the name.
Felony was conceived, written and recorded entirely by Timzy_survival, working closely in the studio with his producer to shape a sound that is both authentic and powerful. Every idea, from the earliest concept through to the final mix, was driven by his own hand, resulting in a project that carries his lived experience in every bar and melody.
The accompanying EP, Survival, builds on this foundation across its five tracks, charting a story of perseverance against the odds. Each song reflects the realities Timzy has lived through, paired with the hope he continues to carry forward into his music.
Known simply as Survival, Timzy is an Afrobeat artist hailing from Ibadan. He was born in mainland Lagos and later moved to the island. Raised in the streets of Lagos, he turned to music early on as a personal outlet, a way to process life, express emotion and find purpose amid hardship.
His stage name was not chosen as a branding exercise but earned through lived experience. After being shot nine times and narrowly escaping death, Timzy transformed his near-fatal ordeal into a source of strength and identity, one he carries into every release.
His catalogue reflects a steady evolution of both story and sound. He first emerged with the 2022 single Gratitude, before returning in 2025 with a run of releases including Therapy, Somori and Non Stop. In 2026, he unveiled Preacher, produced by Jhay2unez, further cementing his place within the Afrosounds scene.
