Falana – Energy Re-Up: The versatile Falana is back with the last focus track from her highly acclaimed Rising EP, “Energy Re-Up“. The EP included the hits “Joy” and “Sweet Adetola.” Falana is one of the first artists to make Alte music, so her sound could never be summed up in words like R&B or Afrobeat.
Additional production by BK2/The Fullest adds a live funky bassline and layered keys to the dancehall-inspired original production by US/Jamaican artist Tyler Richards. Additionally, co-writer Sir Dauda added more words to this catchy song, creating a melodic rap around Falana’s sweet vocal performance that talks about how great it is to be young, carefree, and in love with everything and life!
“Rising,” the first NFT drop on Nifty Gateway, on May 20, 2022, was a collaboration between her and digital artists Anthony Azekwoh (creator of the “Homecoming” series) and Duro (creator of famous cover art for Wiz Kid, Davido, and Oxlade). The second release, “Rising Sister,” on May 28, 2022 (add 6 artists’ names), included animated versions of the original art installation along with music clips from the “Rising” EP track that inspired them.
The audio and NFT release comes with a “good vibes” music video concepted by Falana and made by the 2 Brothers from Lagos, who have worked with big names like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Asa, Ladipoe, and Sauti Sol. The music video for “Energy Re-Up” is full of “girl power” scenes, including beds, road trips, parties, and performances. It’s the perfect visual accompaniment to the song’s sound and performance, and it’s sure to become a summer classic that everyone enjoys.

With recent nods from the prestigious Headies for “Best R&B Album of the Year” for the Rising EP, “Songwriter of the Year,” and “Best Recording of the Year” for “Joy,” 2022 looks like it will be a big year for Falana.
