Ricky Duran, notably the runner-up of The Voice Season 17, debuts his new single, “Star” – available everywhere now.
Contrary to the serious nature of previous releases “She Closed Her Eyes” honoring his mother who passed in 2018 and “Selfish Love” about leaving home and chasing dreams, “Star” is a lighthearted love song that is vulnerable yet optimistic about his long-time girlfriend.
“I’ve written a lot of songs about the losses and struggles I’ve had in my life,” confesses Duran to People.com writer Tricia Despres. “I wanted to write a song that was about something positive in my life. If there is one thing that is positive, it’s the love I feel for her.”
