Nigerian artist 2Rymce has unveiled his latest single Idu Piano, a fusion that blends Amapiano grooves with his deep-rooted Edo cultural heritage. The track, which officially dropped on 10th May 2026, marks an exciting evolution in the singer-songwriter and producer’s sound while staying true to the traditions that define him.
Idu Piano is an independent release, the song serves as a personal expression, addressing issues such as police brutality in Nigeria and the need to honour and uplift Edo culture, particularly the legacy of the great Benin Kingdom, recognised as one of Africa’s most historic kingdoms. The title itself pays homage to the artist’s ancestors: “Idu” refers to their name, while “Piano” symbolises the celebration of their enduring contributions.
2Rymce composed and wrote the track himself, as both a dedicated artist and producer. He collaborated with his brother Gudboi on the beat, crafting a sound that reflects his commitment to originality. “I always create my own style when it comes to music,” he explains through his work, driven by the desire to bring the Edo language and heritage to a wider audience. The song urges listeners to remember their roots, learn about their culture, and show it the respect it deserves.
Recorded in 2Rymce’s home studio in Roma Lazio Italy, Idu Piano has already generated significant excitement. Fans worldwide flooded 2Rymce with messages after the album cover was shared ahead of release, signalling strong anticipation for this culturally rich Amapiano-influenced Afrobeat offering.
2Rymce, also known for his work with Starz National Music Team, continues to build on a career that spans performances across Europe, Australia, and beyond. His previous album Like Respect Your Elders has amassed over 1.3 million views on YouTube and other platforms, highlighting his growing global appeal.
