Giant and the Georges capture the bittersweet feeling of looking back on a love that has ended with their latest single, “Happy Hour.” Written during a post-heartbreak trip to Australia, the track explores the pull of memories, the longing for what has been lost, and the quiet hope that can remain even after a relationship comes to an end.

About Giant and the GeorgesGiant and the Georges – Happy Hour

Built around shimmering lead guitar and soaring vocal harmonies, “Happy Hour” balances its melancholic subject matter with a warm, uplifting sound. Rather than allowing the sadness at its core to weigh the song down, the band turns it into an expansive indie-rock anthem that finds beauty in reflection and gives listeners something to hold on to.

The track was recorded at Magic Garden Recording Studio, a studio with a history of hosting artists including Robert Plant, The Twang, Editors, The Sherlocks, and The Blinders. Reuniting with producer Liam Radburn, Giant and the Georges bring a sense of scale and atmosphere to the song, allowing its emotional depth to sit naturally alongside its guitar-driven energy.

With influences spanning the sounds associated with The Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, and Pixies, “Happy Hour” brings together nostalgia, yearning, and melodic intensity. It is a song about accepting the weight of lost love while recognising that the memories it leaves behind can still carry warmth.
