Explosive alt-rock four-piece YouVee return with their brand-new single ‘Walk Of Fame’, an electrifying release that cements their reputation as one of the most exciting emerging acts in the northern alternative scene. The track blends searing guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and soaring, ethereal vocals to create a sound that feels both cinematic and visceral, a sonic storm that captures the chaos and allure of chasing recognition in the modern world.

Produced by Pieter Rietkerk of Chapel Studios, whose credits include Catfish & The Bottlemen, Slowdive, and Editors, ‘Walk Of Fame’ brings a high-octane soundscape that captures the intensity of the band’s live sound while bringing radio ready production and melodic punch. Bringing together metal undertones thanks to the double kick pedal drums and sonic intensity, the track mixes its driving heavy rock intensity with a melodic indie-rock flourish and dramatic strings, ultimately resulting in a track which balances its rock intensity with a more accessible edge.

Speaking about the single, the band explain: “Walk of fame captures, and mocks the industry in a sense it feels like when someone is nepotistic or wealthy, they are more likely to have better opportunities in the industry – such as focus on me I’ll focus on you and the verses are rebelling against that view. Walk of Fame was recorded in 2024 as part of our singles project, with Walk of Fame being the 3rd since our last EP. It’s the rockiest single that we recorded in those sessions, so it really gave us a chance to crank everything up and go a bit crazy on it – we even put a string section in!”

Formed in February 2020, YouVee wasted no time developing their distinctive post-indie and psychedelic rock sound. Their debut single ‘UltraViolet’ arrived in July 2020, swiftly followed by ‘New Emotion’ and ‘Mooreside’, a trio of tracks that BBC Radio York’s Jericho Keys dubbed a “Hattrick” of striking debuts.

Since then, the band have gone from strength to strength, releasing two acclaimed EPs, including 2023’s ‘The Print White Black’, which they launched to their biggest live audience yet. Their energetic performances have earned them multiple features on BBC Introducing Yorkshire and Humberside, including live lounge sessions, balcony performances, and interviews, as well as appearances at the BBC Introducing: Welcome to Yorkshire Gig and BBC Radio 6 Music’s Independent Venue Week, where they supported The K’s.

Following their recent singles ‘Peacemaker’ and ‘Fancy People’, ‘Walk Of Fame’ marks the next chapter in YouVee’s evolution. With more music and shows on the horizon, the band are showing no signs of slowing down.
